Vintage Guitars

Its not every day that you get a 1940s Martin on your record. Nor, not coincidentally, is it every day that a chap like Mellow Peaches Amit Dattani comes to play. Ive already written about the role one of the records musicians has played in the birth of the new album; theres little doubt that without the chap sitting awkwardly on a drum stool in the picture above, the current sessions wouldnt be happening at all. Fittingly, then, the guitars, banjos and slidey things he laid down on Friday evening have bound together, like the finest eggs, a half-dozen of the records songs. Whilst we finish off those tunes, you can hear his work on the Peaches most recent record, Ill Go Down With This Ship. Go buy it.

P.S. One of his banjos is from 1916.
